Writing regular expressions that work the way you expect them to is no trivial task. Use Charity Kahn's Regular-expression inspector Cool Tool to ensure that your regular expressions work before including them in your code. Or use it to practice pattern matching and test your understanding of special characters.

Character quick reference

1. Type in the regular expression pattern (excluding forward slashes) that you want to search for. Select flags, if applicable (i to ignore case, g for global match, or gi for both).
